The Hilux frame and body structure have been redesigned to ensure toughness, while a stronger, wider under-body offer greater protection. All the components of the Hilux are made to withstand the most rigorous tests. The new frame also contributes to improved handling and ride comfort, working hand-in-hand with the new suspension and gear ratios.
Work hard and play harder – Hilux helps you do just that. The new suspension gives you the ride comfort you would expect in a premium SUV and combines it with the power of a workhorse. You can load even more of your work and leisure gear, by making use of the 3.5 tonne towing capacity for Single and Extra Cabs (3.2 tonne for Double Cab), 1 tonne payload and the enlarged deck area.

High tension sheet metal is used to maintain a lightweight design and ensure strength and rigidity. Sound-absorbing and noise-cancelling materials contribute to a peaceful drive.
Active Height Control (AHC) and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS)
AHC adjusts your vehicle's ground clearance to provide optimal vehicle performance, regardless of speed or terrain. Together with AVS it also makes your vehicle more stable and comfortable.
Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS)
KDSS is an electronically modulated hydraulic suspension system. On-road, this system provides unrivalled steering agility and ride comfort. Off-road, KDSS delivers greater traction and stability.
Spring Rate Control
Spring Rate Control manages spring characteristics when turning or braking thereby greatly reducing the roll angle and pitch angle for increased passenger comfort.
Crawl Control
Crawl Control maintains constant and stable low-speed off-road progress. The driver doesn't have to worry about controlling the throttle and brake, and can instead concentrate on steering.
Hill-start Assist Control (HAC)
HAC helps to ensure a smooth start on steep inclines by applying the brakes for up to 2 seconds after the brake pedal is released. This prevents the vehicle from rolling back. It is activated by pushing the brake pedal harder after stopping as long as the transmission shift lever is in any forward gear position.
Active Traction Control (A-TRC)
Designed for on- and off-road, A-TRC helps to keep you moving in the most adverse conditions. This intelligent traction control applies brake force to one wheel that may be slipping, while distributing power evenly between the three that are not.
Steering angle display
In uneven off-road conditions it is often difficult to determine your exact steering direction. The Multi information display shows the tyre angle guidelines to give you confidence in these situations. When Multi-Terrain Select is in use, the tyre angle guidelines let you know your predicted path.
