Sustainable Supply Chain

Close collaboration with business partners
Toyota pursues open and fair business, and engages in sustainability initiatives through close collaboration with business partners to raise quality in terms of safety and customer satisfaction.

Human rights in the supply chain

In 2021, Toyota announced its Human Rights Policy, based on the UN Guiding Principles, reflected in Toyota Motor Europe's Code of Conduct for all employees. Across our global supply chain, we've implemented Basic Purchasing Policies and supplier contracts, setting clear expectations for legal compliance, human rights, and environmental standards. We also share Sustainable Purchasing Guidelines with suppliers. Through clear and open dialogue, we are taking meaningful steps toward our mission of "happiness for all."

Drive Sustainability

We are a member of Drive Sustainability, a partnership of 18 automotive companies that are working together to improve supply chain sustainability in the automotive industry. Our collective strategy focuses on four challenges: Sustainable Supply Chains, Sustainable Raw Materials, Environmental Due Diligence, and Human Rights. In each area we’re developing common standards, applying common compliance tools, and providing trainings and e-learnings to help suppliers improve their sustainability performance.

Reporting concerns via our whistleblower hotline

Integrity matters to us. We stand firmly against corruption and bribery, and we ask our Business Partners to speak up if they see, or even suspect, something that doesn’t feel right.

Business Partners can raise a concern anonymously about any actual or suspected acts of corruption or bribery committed by employees, sub-contractors, or consultants of any Toyota business or its partners.

There are several ways to safely and confidentially report a concern:

i. Through our whistleblower hotline (operated by an external provider and available 24/7, 365 days a year in 7 languages):

       1.  By phone: Telephone Numbers - Safecall

       2. Online: Report An Incident & Update - Safecall

ii. By contacting our Compliance Officer: karel.de.wilde@toyota-europe.com
