National flag stickers for cycling teams
As excitement mounts for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, we have unveiled an innovative safety measure rooted in its DNA of continuous improvement. Recognising the critical importance of athlete support during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we have taken a proactive approach to ensure their safety and allow them to focus on their performance.
Toyota’s philosophy of improvement
During Tokyo 2020, Toyota observed that some cycling teams used different national flag accessories to identify their team cars during the races. To improve this at Paris 2024, Toyota proposed equipping all cycling team cars with stickers of national flags. These stickers, along with additional markings on the front and back of each vehicle, not only enhance visibility but also promote a sense of unity and identity among the teams.
“We will provide 80 Toyota Corolla TS hybrid vehicles ensuring the smooth operation of the cycling events. Each vehicle will have stickers, as well as additional markings on the front and on the back.”
said Cédric Borremans, Head of Olympic and Paralympic
TMUK’s key role in our success
Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK) played a pivotal role in this journey, providing 80 Cycling Corolla TS hybrid vehicles and overseeing the meticulous sticker application process. This collaboration between Toyota and Paris 2024 underscores our commitment to quality and safety, ensuring that every vehicle equipped with enhanced safety features meets the highest standards and is easily recognised by the cyclists during the races.
“This job required precise skills and care to guarantee the application was perfect and clearly visible ensuring that the athletes can identify their support vehicles during the fast-paced event.”
said Julie Meyssonnier, General Manager at TMUK.
